Education for Naturopathic Doctors

Naturopathic doctors complete a minimum of three years of pre-medical studies at a university, followed by four years at an accredited Naturopathic institution in North America.

Their education encompasses medical sciences, naturopathic principles and therapeutics, and, 1500 hours of supervised clinical training.

In addition, students must complete provincial and international licensing board examinations.

Naturopathic doctors are trained in the following modalities: clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, Chinese medicine and acupuncture, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, physical medicine and counselling.
